Refurbished Lock and Key for 300 Year-Old-Lock

Need an old lock refurbished or a hand-cut key made for a lock? We were recently contacted by a local country estate to make a key for an old lock. I estimate this giant lock to be around 300 years old.

Since a key blank was not commercially available, one had to be made bespoke and then the key cut to suit using traditional methods.

Definitely not a job for the faint hearted and unskilled. This has been the most expensive single key cut we have undertaken, but as you can see from the photos, the end result was very satisfying. And once again, once the install was complete, we had another happy customer.
